I have a new to me JD 2020 that we use mostly for bush hogging. It has the two pto engagement levers on the left side in front and behind your foot. There is the separate pto engagement lever in between the gear shift levers. I have an earlier owners manual that does not show the the middle lever, and does a poor job explaining why I would use one method of engaging the pto over the other.
Anybody willing to explain the advantages of each and which would be best for my bush hogging?
Also, not mentioned in my owners manual is the turtle/hare lever on the left side of the dash. It works great, but I was wondering if there is an operational restriction on using it. Do I need to clutch when shifting it? I like it when hitting a really heavy section that needs a slower travel speed, then can shift to a faster speed when it thins out.
