430 Garden Tractor info

Just acquired a 430 Garden Tractor. They did not have any books. How does the 2 speed shift work? It does not seem to move from high to low. Do you have to push, pull, twist or what to shift it? Probably will not ever have to use it but would like it to work. I imagine the hydro is plenty fast enough without needing to shift to a higher range. Yes, I am looking for the manuals. Looks like a nice unit with a 60 inch deck.

Pull the leaver toward you and shift side to side. I mow in low range and as fast as it will run on the hand control. If it is stuck, just pull the fender/seat pan off and lube the linkage(six bolts). and everything you want to know is on weekendfreedomachine.com

The 2 speed lever on my JD430 has always gone hard. I find it helps to rock the tractor front or backwards just a little to move it.
