Tx Jim, BD, Tech 7, or anyone Please check my post from earlier in the day under 2155 John Deere. I really would appreciate your thoughts on these questions. Thanks, Dubuque-man

You need to post your questions in your own thread. You'll get better response that way.

You'll be fine with the corrosion inhibiters in your new antifreeze. It's alway's a good idea to change the hydraulic oil and filter as well as pull the screen out of the bottom of the tranny and clean it when you don't know the history. Do put hyguard back in.

Sounds like this tractor has had a tough life but there should be value in it still, especially as you started with a very reasonable purchase price. In addition to what others have said, check and replace as necessary the boots on the gear shifters. If cracked these will allow rainwater into the hydraulic oil. Spend the extra few dollars for name brand hydraulic oil (John Deere Hy gard) it is a good investment
You mentioned the clutch, curious to know what its acting like if you figure on waiting til winter to do more with it. ?? A pet peeve of mine on these utility tractors is the large amount of wear that occurs at the clutch pedal pivot. When I put a new bushing in there I always drill and tap the pedal for a grease fitting
I think you have a nice tractor there and with a bit of care it will do a lot of work for you. I used my 1020 (the great grandfather of a 2155) last night to load another 75 round bales (only 100 more to pick up)It performed well as always. Your '55 has this ability too.
Post back if you have more questions and try to tolerate those that don't appreciate the Mannheims.
