2750 vs 5500

need another tractor, have a choice between 2750 and 5500, both with loaders, both mfwd, both appear in good shape, I believe I know where the 2750 came from, if so it was babied, both simple synchro trans. Probably be dedicated to haying and end of season tillage. any thoughts on one vs the other or individually? Maintenance, problems, etc. Appreciate the input thanks
 

My vote is the older machine, we have a 2750 4wd , sure it's had some issue's but it also has
13,485 hours on it. Out of the frame major at 12K. Runs like a Top... I don't think the 5500 is
as heavy...
 
I'd say that if you plan on doing a lot of heavy tilling, go with the 2750, but if it's going to be mostly a haying/loader tractor, go with the 5500. Of course the tractor's age, condition and price has a lot to do with the decision too. For either model, there's transmission options available that are better for loader work than the"simple synchro transmission."
