John Deere B knock

Picked up a B that was stuck. I bored it out, new Aluminum pistons (125 over) rings, pins. Runs fine but knocks. Knocks at idle.. less when clutch engaged. Light knock when driving in gear, with knock disappearing when put under medium to heavy load. Any suggestions as to cause?

Check & re-set the endplay on the flywheel .008. Use a dial indicator.
Torque the two bolts down to 160 ft lbs. Start at 90 then 100 then 120 then 140 then 160. Check the area around the bolts for cracks using bright light & slight magnification. No cracks you are ready to put the cover on.
The only thing left is the splines on the clutch driver, torque the center bolt to 160 ft lbs. If it's still knocking either the crank splines on the flywheel and or the crank splines on the clutch driver are worn. "new" (replacement) flywheel and or clutch driver time.

U need to tell more about that "Knock"..

Could be a little Main bearing noise, wrist-pin noise or a little cold piston slap..

Mine has had a wrap at idle (when it was bored to +.180") since 1960 and has not changed any at all..!!

May be nothing serious..

I cut end play on Crankshaft to Minimum. Checked counterweight on crank and pulley. Pulled out the shims on the end of rods connecting to the crankshaft, (which showed a lot of play.
Knock is less, but it was the Loose Rods. Still a little play so will need Babbit or find rods that can take rod bearings.
Thanks
