JD Unstyled AR / AO Question

I went this morning to look at an unstyled AR/AO #253539. I am looking for any advice as to which model it is.
Here is what I saw: Offset radiator with oval cap, Short mushroom intake cap that looks unmolested and correct. However, the muffler was rigged like an AR, kind of, but the original muffler elbow was still on the manifold and all the riiging was from there up. Also it only had the one brake.
Being in the 1937 number range were there even AO's made or were all the orchards AOS?
Thanks Eric

Sounds like a Model AR with only the differential brake. The AO had 2 turning brakes.I think you are correct on only AOS built in 37. send your ser# to; [email protected] for more info.

From what I have read, you could buy an AR with Orchard equipment. This was cheaper than buying an AO. Since it only has a one brake (service brake) then it is an AR. Orchard tractors had two brakes otherwise known as turning brakes.

I have a 1936 AR set up just how you described. I also have a 1938 BO with full citrus fenders, and of coarse the BO has turning brakes.
