hard start 2510

The pump was rebuilt a couple of years ago. Not that many hours on it since then. But I don't know if they did anything with the rotor. Evidently not if that is the problem.

Get it hot enough that it won't start.
Run cool water over the pump and let it set a few minutes.
If it starts it's the head.
NEVER run water over the pump while running.

I put a new reman pump on a late 4020 once,,while doing away with the little pump,, it was that way out of the box,,when it was warm it would not start pour a little water over it and it would start right up..

I had a similar problem with my 2510 as it would always start great when cold but barely start when hot and came close to pulling the pump to rebuild and decided to rebuild the starter instead as I just didn't like its turn over speed and what a difference. It starts great hot or cold now.
