John Deere 70

Most had SCV's but cheapskates could order a delete.
Not all hydraulic pumps still work. many operators never read the manual and did not shut the pump off when not using the hydraulics for days, weeks, months and years at a time.
Depends on how heavy a disk, what kind of soil, flat or hilly land, wet or dry land, tractor tire condition and ballast.
Do you have the operator's manual ? the parts book from the JD web site ?

Take a look at the diagram below.

Note the plug (Key 1), special plug (Key 22), and flexible (88" long) oil line (Key 23).

The model 70 probably came from the factory with plugs, but the special plugs were available for use with a remote hydraulic cylinder.

Take a look at the photo below of "1011" one of our 1953 Model 70s.

Thanks. No I don't have a manual or parts book but I'm lookin at a john Deere 70 and the outlets don't look like a hydraulic outlet I've seen but I'm not familiar with these tractors

I have used a 10' eversman disc behind my 70. Working deep in chiseled ground 4th gear (low range) is too much for the tractor and 3rd is too slow for the disc to work right. It all depends on how deep you want to go, how fast, ground type etc. Overall though I would say they are a good match for each other.

The hydraulics are "plumbed" in to the side of the Powr-Trol.

Take a look at "15" our other 1953 Model 70.

The special plug has a Pioneer Quick Coupling.

The photo below shows a couple of special plugs with Pioneer Quick Couplings.
