4000 gas PS / Aumann Auction

I think Polk bought it. He was there and purchased a LOT of tractors. I came home empty handed.
 
I just looked at my notes. I believe Polk was bidder 139. Bidder 154 won the 4000.

For those who haven't looked on the Aumann auction site - it sold for $82,500.00. I guess the economy has rebounded. ;-)
 
I know Ernie Goebel and George Braksma each had three but Ernie may have sold one so possibly 7 are accoumted for.If I was told correctly they would all be 71/72.Dont care for gas tractors much but the 4000 gas P.S.is tied for 11th as least common New Gen made .HiCrop and Industrials and gas power shifts are the rarest.
 
Cowmechanic,The 4020 power shift is not considered very collectable.If they are side console there were 842 made if 64/68 7215 .The # of powershifts is not known and they bring about $5000.If it was a HFWA it would be rare.

I wonder if there are any PS gas or PS LP model 4000's that some Bubba has jammed in a diesel combine engine ?

According to the records Deere didn't build any 4000 LP tractors, but it wouldn't surprise me if someone converted a gas into a diesel.
My local JD service manager told me about a local tractor scalper who brought in a nice 4020 Hi-Crop he bought cheap somewhere in the south and had them convert it to a row crop with axles from a salvage yard
