Splitdorf off a 29 D. The brass gear had multiple cracks on the spokes and teeth. I have a replacement but am unable to find timing marks that line up with anything. I think I have marks on each gear but neither match at any point. Ideas?

Taken from JD SM 2029. If this helps great...if not disregard....

That does not look quite like this one. Here is a photo of the gear. Behind the points is another gear. I have removed the points so I can get to both gears and can see any timing marks on both of them.

I have never seen this particular MAG...however this is most likely the timing mark? I would think there shall be a mark on the pinion gear also?

I agree, that does look like a timing mark. I find what I think is a timing mark on the lower gear as well. Problem is they never meet. Shouldn't that match at some point?
