I am in need of the socket tool for my JD tractor. I e-mailed him and left phone messages for Mr. Dain and was wondering if anyone has ordered one? Sent message over a month ago.

Have not received response back.

Hope his tool did not infringe on tool patents. He built one nice tool. Just hope he still making the tool.

Is there anyone else out that makes a similar socket tool for the John Deere 630 flywheel?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
JD6307

ow did you place your order for the tool? Did you e-mail him, phone order or regular mail order? Also, you remember what payment method he preferred? Private message me with the details if you feel comfortable doing that.

thank you,

That's a sharp looking tool. If you were not concerned about the appearance of the tool, you could easily make one out of an old socket. You could either grind a notch in the socket, or grind a notch in an appropriate sized piece of pipe, then weld the socket to the pipe. The 630 has a 5/16" roll pin in the end of the crankshaft. If the appearance of the tool is important, then this idea won't work :)

Hello!

I am Brian Dain's Daughter. I am responding in regards to why you haven't received a response to your inquiry about his Crankshaft Socket Tool. Dad was in a really bad accident in September of 2014. He was driving his tractor on the shoulder of a county highway when the tractor was struck in the back tire by a car going at high speeds. He was thrown from the tractor and landed on the side of the road. The tractor broke into three pieces. He was flown to the hospital and was in the ICU for over a month. He experienced extreme brain trauma.

I found this post when I searched his name on Google. You warmed my heart. I filmed dad's demonstration video so I know how much passion he has for this tool. I think he might have some tools at his house still, but I do not know where. I can talk with my family to see how we want to go about this. I would love to get this tool to you somehow! He would be so happy to see people discussing his invention. Please message me with any questions. I will be happy to answer any question.

Thank you very much!

Brian Dain's Daughter.
