besides changing blocks how can i get more power from a 4020 lp that is a 340---will the block bore for the bigger pistons to fit

M&W used to make an overbore S&P kit that made it a 362. I put a set in my combine engine and it did make a small difference. Couldn't dyno it obviously so I really don't know how much HP it gained.

Will spark ignition heads bolt onto 466/7.6L blocks ?

JD & other companies offer 4.25 inch piston/liner kits that will fit in original engine blocks for 4020's which will be 362 CID

Bolt yes, seal everywhere it's supposed to I don't know, but there should be bunches of 8.1 spark plug heads in the engine salvage yards out of generators and buses. With the right Pistons it would probably work pretty well.

Not sure but I think so.
What would you do about a crank?
I know guys make alcohol burners from 466s.

Notice OD of 4.00 cylinder compared to 4.25.
Don't think they will sub in same block.

This a pulling tractor or working tractor??? The reason I asked is M&W made a kit that did what you want to do. I installed several and really could not tell much difference in the horsepower with the extra 20 CU. When put on the dyno they would show maybe 3-5 more horse power was all.

Should be able to make 200+ HP with more compression, more cam and some port work on gasoline.Without the turbo and intercooler.

Parts I listed came out of a 4020 parts catalog SN-200.999 but upon further investigation LP piston kit is NLA

Kits not available but I think parts might be.
So much info lost on computerized parts. There
must have been a different block for the smaller cylinder.
If I get a chance I will look at mine though it's a 67 I
think and would be the 4.25 bore. I run it on gasoline.

Here's a LPG liner & a kit that's available from JD
R40614 Cylinder Liner - CYLINDER LINER ADD 222.90 USD
