JD 148 Loader set up

Bardoin

New User
I recently purchased a 4030 with a 148 loader. The loader is using the tractors hydraulic remotes for operation. I'd like to install a power beyond block and a joystick. Just looking for advice on what type joystick to use and how to install power block. Thanks,

Here's JD PBY block. I personally prefer to tee into the pressure & rockshaft oil return lines.

A joystick closed center valve can be obtained from Surplus Center.

Hey Jim,

Bardoin never said whether or not the 4030 has a cab. Would you want to put the hydraulic unit in the cab with you like that one is? Seems most joystick controls run cables down out of the cab and have the actual valves safely outta the cab...

Thanks & that's a very good point. Surplus Center,Baums & Bailey's sells cable operated valves that can be converted to closed center for a cab tractor

It's an open cab set up. I'm not new to tractors, but am new to installing additional equipment. Thanks for all y'all's help an advice.

Another option on 148/158 is the factory levers that were an option which are mounted on a steel rail from the right loader mast toward operator these had two or three levers depending if grapple equipted.Requires no drilling in fenders or platform and can be plumbed to SCV or better into line by brake and returned to filter. It has all valving included.I happen to have an extra 515-290-4336

Wondering if you still have the levers and valving?
