problems with baler going crazy.

I have a 458 john deere round baler and you can use net wrap or twine. It's driving me crazy. Everytime I turn on my bale trak monitor a n comes on screen and buzzer goes off and code e402 comes on screen. I turned on and off several times to get buzzer to stop long enough to switch it back twine. I work two jobs and I would like to fix this problem because when net wrap is working it sure is faster to bale. Any help would appreciated.

Did you look at yellow card located in slot behind monitor or OM for meaning of code E402? My OM & card aren't here but in field with baler.

I didn't get one with my baler I bought it used. When it does this is when I turn on monitor

Google is your friend. Here's what I found Googling.

I don't know if your baler is or isn't related to the ones discussed in this link, but just in case...

http://www.deere.com/en_US/ag/servicesupport/tips/hayforage/Ottumwa_Error_Codes_E401_and_E402.html#

Symptoms
Error codes E401 and/or E402 display when verifying that the net actuator is working.

Situation or Problem
The monitor does not recognize proper net wrap application without net wrap threaded into the net attachment, or the PTO engaged. The net wrap switch is responsible for the the error codes being displayed. If net is not threaded in the net wrap attachment, the switch cannot read that net has passed across it, and the corresponding code will be displayed on the monitor. Without the PTO running, net will also not pass across the switch causing the error code.

Summary
These codes are normal. There is no way to prevent these codes from displaying while cycling the surface wrap actuator, with the PTO turned off or no net wrap in the baler.

This happens when I turned on baler then turned on monitor. I turned it off several times and actually got it to bale one roll and got it to roll one with net then it started going crazy again

In keeping with the chart that Tx Jim supplied, I would check the plug that connects the baler and monitor....I have seen the pins get pushed back in this area causing opens.

Have you checked netwrap switch operation using "channel 12"? While depressing "Deere key" turn on monitor then use "plus key" to scroll to channel 12.

I tried to do that but I'm not sure if I did it rite. When I got to the channel 12. The alarm was sounding then I got off tractor and flipped the lever and alarm would turn off. When I released the lever the lever went back to normal resting position and the alarm came back on. Is this what it's suppose to do?
