2510 3 point issues.

having an issue I think with my 2510's 3 point. I put a bale mover on the bale (single bale) and can't pick it up. raises about 2 inches. Now if I back into a mound of dirt that "helps" to raise it, it will come up a little but not all the way, but it stays at that height. I'm guessing the bales weigh around 1400-1500 lbs. I first found this issue when trying to spray weeds. my 3 point sprayer holds 300 gallons of water and had to drain out 100 gallon to get it to raise.
I tested scv pressure last night, my gauge only goes to 2000 psi but when holding the scv lever I buried the needle plus a little bit more. when I let off the lever it went to 1800 psi.
the fact the 3 point stays up tells me my piston is not leaking by, but I did notice when empty, if I raise the 3 point, it will go all the way and then drop just a bit maybe an inch and then it stays there.
new filter, full on oil, screen was taken out and checked (did all that this spring). where do I go next? my book don't really say much and it's a jd book.

The service manuals have a procedure to adjust that linkage. I'd start there. Be sure to tape or weld your socket onto the extension you use to reach into the housing to do that inside adjustment.

I don't know ? Been years since I done one. Had a 2520 acting weird like yours and I followed the book and it fixed it.

(quoted from post at 21:19:07 06/02/15) that takes a 9/16 socket dont it? turn it in to get the three point to raise?

Yes 9/16 socket taped or welded onto an extension. Correct method to adjust L/D mechanism is by following ALL the STEPS outlined in a JD tech manual not simply adjusting nut through bung hole in the rear of tractor.

I bet if you turn the load screw counter clockwise a couple turns it will come up, becareful not to get "pinched" as it does..

Play with it a bit,, the best way is to follow the complete directions that is in the manual,,but I think this will make it work...

that nut wont fall off in there will it? I'm thinking it has a roll pin so it don't but wanna see if you knew for sure.

Yes it has a roll pin through it, you need to push the lock forward before it will turn, it will have a bit of spring tension to it..

I would check the standby pressure, like Tim S said, first, 1800 is to low, should be at least 2250.
