John Deere 2120 clutch repair

Tractor will not allow you to get into gear when clutch pedal depressed. Will drive tractor if I short it to start but depressing couch pedal does nothing. I read on here about greasing bearing, could that be the problem as this tractor has not been used much in ten years. Thanks How easy or hard is it to do the clutch on this tractor.

Do Not short the starter to start a tractor in gear. Do you know how much paperwork that makes volunteer fire fighters, the cops, the medical establishment and the coroner have to fill out sooner or later ?
The friction disk could be rusted to the flywheel/pressure plate.

I agree that the clutch plate is probably stuck. Try spraying brake cleaner through inspection hole on clutch then blocking(tying) clutch down then start engine and allow engine to get to operating temp.
