John Deere D rear extensions

Curious how common the rear steel wheel extensions were (unstyled) back in the day. Used for? Hard to come by today?

I am still on the lookout for a fuel tank, talk about hard to find!

I did, yes. No luck. Looking for a fuel tank not a hood however.

Matthew, Check With K&K antique tractors. Kent Kaster in Indiana. I had a leaky GP fuel tank a couple of years ago, he could make a new one if you still had your fittings. It would not have separate tanks but it'd look the same. I didn't do it went a different route.
