Upper and Lower Cooling Pipes

I have John Deere Manuals coming in the mail, but
in the meantime...

Anybody know if the upper and lower water pipes
on a '37 JD A came with rubber hoses on them with
the clamps from the factory, or is that a classic
farmer quick fix?

Not that you guys don't know what I'm talking about,
but here are the 3 hoses on mine...

Thanks for all your help!

Those pipes you are asking about do not come with the Hoses or the clamps. Looks like to me the threaded lower pipe in the radiator has seen its better days. Those can be a nightmare getting out. The last one I got out took a lot of heat and a lot of wishing that the Rust Worms would give up the ghost and let the pipe turn out. No luck. I had to remove the pipe with a small chisel to not destroy the threads in the radiator. Then find and borrow a Tap to chase the threads.

The hoses are standard equiptment on the older tractors. I believe the inside diameter is 2 7/8". Available at most parts stores. My NaPA will cut to length. Some will want you to buy the whole chunk of hose. Might check with K&K ,Davenport Tractor or Steiners for the hoses also. This site shows them also..
