I'm looking at a 145 three bottom with landslide wheel. Looks
to be in good shape with minor wear. I'm using a 3-16
mounted plow now mainly for plow days. What would be a
fair price and would it do a better job than a mounted plow?

I assume you are talking about the F145H (Four bolts) or F145A (Three bolts). The three bottom versions seem to be popular. Depending on condition I would say $500 to $1000. I believe I have paid $500, $600, and $800 for the three I have purchased although that was some years ago.

By the way, if you buy one get a manual to properly adjust.

And yes, these plows do a better job than a mounted plow. The F145's do a great job. A mounted plow will always plow a varying depth as you go up and down even slight grades. The semi-mount plow evens some of this out.

What are you pulling them with? The mounted as you know ex for small plow day fields the 145 is noisy with vibration from the tail wheel steering linkage, easy to hook up, and depending will pull easier hence the horse you are pulling with.Yhey will of course not turn as sharp and depending on cond of 145 will be worth up to twice as much at SALE time. As for a better job depends on the set up man . the 3/14,s were only MADE 1 year. $650 if you could find one that cheap. and up, you might get lucky if fellow does not know what he is selling.YOUR CALL. Mounteds plow nice depending on soil and MOISTURE if time is spent to hang them CORRECTLY.

Thats a good plow. I have a 3x14 F145H that I pull with my 620. I gave $400, it needed all new wear parts including 2 moldboards and the 3rd one is close to being done. I now have close to $1000 in it, but it's well worth it. A very collectable plow.
