Was wondering how difficult (expense) is it to change 4440 from 2 6 volt to 1 12 volt battery?

Not difficult just install battery in LH battery box but 4440 will not start very well on one 12 volt battery when it gets cold

I did it last yr. you need to sneak another cable across an buy a double wire end. I ended up at the automotive and with 2 1100 cca batteries and cables made 350.00. You need to go from series to parallel.

Very cheap, I just removed the short ground cable from the right side, and installed it and the battery on the left side. Did this to two 4440's and a 4240 over 20 years ago, still have both 4440's and haven't regretted getting away from 2 six volt batteries yet, and I live in Wyoming using them throughout the winter.
