I got farther than i thought I would today, about 490 miles, didn't leave home till 11AM.. I'm at Galesburg Ill. My Hot Rod Lincoln made good time,,the bad thing is if I want to go through the Musuem in Waterloo I will have some "setting" time till Tue. morning...I am checking on things to do around there tomorrow..

Could have stayed home and worked! I know you have things to do.
FINALLY got some corn planted here. Haven't planted anything for three weeks because of flooding.

Galesburg is quit a bit southwest of me Tim! I don't know if the john Deere pavilion is still open Iin moline or not, if you wanna kill time and venture north you can cruise up to grand detour and see John deere's home and blacksmith shop

Too bad that waterpark in Waterloo won't be open. You could go down the slides and hang your selfie stick out in front of ya for a good pic lol ;-) oh wait. . .you prob don't have one of those? Me neither! Was at Garth Brooks concert in Omaha few weeks back, the teenagers have them and were using them. Wife and I, we just sat back and enjoyed and show. One thing to note Tim, stop at the Parkersburg exit on Hwy 20, they have a TON of neat JD collectable items in the convenience store.

I see some planting going on around here and a lot of planted that is not up yet. My Bros. finished up today, looks like a rainy week around home this week. This is the first time I've been away since I was at your place Bob...a week or so now and then a week at Rantual..I'm itching to go to Rantual..

I am heading to Waterloo now, going to look around that area, Cedar Falls area,, hopfuly some back roads and stay the nite there, tour the Musuem tomorrow then head for Sioux City on rt.20,,then North on 29..looks like a rainy day around this area. The tallest corn I have sen is near Galesburg looks to be about 1o-12" tall

I'm not sure you'd be into it but I think the "field of dreams" Movie site is still there @ Dyersville, east of Waterloo. The national farm toy museum is in Dyersville, also. Google them if you think you may want to go there. Have a safe trip.

I am one of the guys that called on the 4020 gas swap to 7700 engine. When you get to Sioux City I am back south on 29 about 60 miles on the Missouri River bottom on the Iowa side.Have a fun and safe trip did the same trip a few years back.

I will be working in North Central Iowa tomorrow, might pass you on the highway going to Waterloo tomorrow.

I'm at a motel in Waterloo now,, went down town to Jameson's Irish Pub,,neet place. looked around town some,, going to the Deere Musuem in the morning, they open at 10, then heading to Sioux Falls, hope to stop at sideconsole4020guy's dealership before they close, going to stay in that area tomorrow nite and meet up with Kent Perterson on Wednesday.I was at the Deere factory where they build the forestery equipment and industrial loaders,,"Big" place, I got some pictures, but can't post them till I get home to my Big computer, this lap top is a toy in comparison..

I made it to the Musuem,,very nice place, I took lots of pictures, but can't post them till I get home, the #1-3010 was there on loan from the Keller collection,, My friend back home has #2,,still working her, I did the transmission in it a couple years ago. The displays were all very nice. When we got there we were invited into the movie room, the guide was bragging about the doors, lights and projection were all computer controled,,and of course they didn't work,,I told him we were getting the same results with the computer controled systems in the field,,we came back latter and watched it. I met a fellow YT'er there,Dan Price, we had a nice visit... We are in Sioux Falls now, a very nice city, the falls are awesome, We will be staying here 2 nites, then on to the Corn Palace, and then on to the Black hills. I was impressed with the valley farm land south of Sioux Falls..

I was running late today and couldn't make it, My Hot Rod Lincoln, had a pasanger seat Governor today..Darn it,, I'm going to stop in in the morning on the way up to visit with Kent, leaving my sweet city wife here to do some shopping, when she's along it's like going hunting with the game warden...

Tim, I really enjoyed our visit at the museum today - thanks for taking the time to show me your pictures of your "60C" being built. I saw it at Springfield in 2012 and was amazed at the detail and workmanship of that unique gem. And I especially enjoyed the pictures of your newest "secret project". Based on what you showed me, it will be another engineering marvel. Looking forward to seeing it at Rantoul this year!

I'm back in Sioux City now, I had a nice visit with Kent, he gave me a great pick up tour (the best kind of tour)of the area and the Pioneer Village that he helped to get started. He has a old John Deere elevator (sorta like a grain leg) that was probably made in the 20's, I have never seen anything like it, it was ran with a line shaft powered by a Deere Hit/miss engine. I am heading to the Corn Palace tomorrow. got mixed up on stopping at sideconsole4020guy's dealership,, I was thinking it was right near Sioux City, but this one is an Industrial dealership,, his was on back south a ways,,Darn it. Sioux City is a pretty place that's for sure..The weather has been nice..I have driven about 1200 miles so far..

I must of read your route wrong or missed a change to it. The dealer I work at is in Luverne MN which is just east of Sioux Falls on I90. So that is my bad.

Zach.

Ooh well we gave it a shot,,Darn it,, I'm still in Sioux Falls.. heading west in the morning..

Tim, when you get to Mt Rushmore make sure you go to the program put on by the parks service, very informative. When we were there 5 years ago it started at 9PM I think you maybe better check that. Also the trail that goes under the faces is fun you can look right up Washington's nostrils. It leads to Borglum's shop. Then the road coming from Custer sate park is very scenic, There is a tunnel that you go thru that frames Mt Rushmore. Just some stuff I thought of, John
