322 runs poorly

My 322 is a great machine but for several months it has run very rough. Seems only running on 2 cylinders. I assume it may be an exciter. I put a new coil on #1 cylinder and gave it a little more power but still sounds like it is missing. will I do more extensive damage if I continue to run it? It has enough power to still mow but you just have to go slower. I hope to keep it running thru the summer and fall season then rebuild next Winter.

There is a "Transistor Unit(2)" mounted to the fire wall that has some large connectors to it. You might want to clean these connectors as a starting point.

I had a 322 once and I replaced this transistor unit but I cannot recall the symptoms I was experiencing.

Check for a good spark at each of the plugs. Coil failure is common (there are three).

Also, check the compression at each of the 3 cylinders.

Don't run it with a miss... NOT good for the engine of the QUIETEST and FINEST GT ever built. It deserves better. And, yes, I own one.

I had a bad connection at the coil on mine that did the same thing. Just cleaned it up and it is still running.

Ever set the valve lash?
Pull one plug wire at a time to find if affects the engine the same on all three . Use non resistor spark plugs.
