clutch bearing grease

Hello, i am re-installing my clutch assembly on my john deere #50. couple of questions, what kind and type of grease should one use on the clutch bearing? Also according to the parts illustration, there is a oil retainer, washer, bearing and a retainer for the bearing. when i took mine about i did not notice a bearing retainer. is this something i should try to find. john deere no longer has it and i am having trouble finding one. any advice will be most appreciated! thanks-happy

I have always used high temperature wheel bearing grease in the clutch mechanism. It will stay better than regular grease. Mike

I use a heavy high molly grease for long lasting lube. Use sparingly and don't get any on you it lasts forever.

I just rebuilt clutch on our 48 B and ordered all the parts from Deere. These are the part numbers, retainer- B2350R, washer-24H1699. Hope this helps
