JD 318 Engine stops when I take hyro out of stop

I was doing some light soil moving with my JD318 and blade when after hitting a big rut and getting quite a jolt, it stopped running when I move the hydro lever out of stop position. The battery light also came on. It will start fine and run, engine just quits when I move the hydro out of stop. Battery is new last year. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Check the wire to the seat switch. Sounds
like it thinks Noone is in the seat.

The seat switch was bypassed when I got the tractor - a plug with 2 wires and a wire nut. I'm not sure where those wires tie in after they go through the chassis under the seat. I wiggled them a bit to see if I could find where they come thru under the hood but couldn't see them. I went out this p.m. to tow it around to my garage, started it so my wife could steer, and the problem went away! Must be a loose connection where the wires tie in underneath somewhere, but I'm not sure where they go.
