730 gas gauge

My gas gauge does not work. I have a new wiring harness on tractor. Any thoughts? Does it ground thru tank hold down bolts? How do you check the sending unit? Thanks for your help.

Keyed power goes to one terminal on the gauge. The other terminal is grounded by variable resistance through the sender. Ground the wire going to the sending unit. If the gauge needle goes up to full when you ground the wire the gauge is good but there is a problem with the sender. If. nothing happens when you ground the sender wire you either have no power to the gauge, the gauge is bad, or the gauge is not wired properly. It is a simple system when you think about it.
