2510 condensors

is it just my 2510 or do other deeres like to eat condensors. seems like I have to put on in every few months and the problem is the little grommets that isolate the points and condenser fell apart and are no longer available, so just a "quick change of points and condenser" is not an option. thinking of electronic ignition. checked my voltage it's at 7-8 when running. my ih's run higher than that and I don't have near the issues with condensors. or are condensors just crap these days?

Go electronic! I did w/ my 2510 and it suddenly became my favorite tractor!! Starts better than it ever did and no more points or cond. Money well spent!!

Where are you getting the condensers?

Ignition condensers are typically rated in the 400 to 600 Volt range, and good ones last all but forever.

As far as the insulators, take a look at ebay auction #141621122519, for a complete breaker plate and see if that one looks like your's.

Trying to figure out exactly what you need for the Delco. There should be better aftermarket availability than for the Prestolite.

Is it the stud with the 2 Bakelite insulators that passes though the distributor housing?

GOOGLE "DELCO 1878405".

Mine started doing the exact same thing a few years ago...but they go to heck even faster. This tractor used to start at the turn of the key, now wont.....start, at all.

Condensers are junk from china, even ones from Deere . Look in your discarded parts bin for an old one , will be better than some of the new.

ha, that's what I did and got it going. did not even know I had some but they don't look to old so probably have the same issue in a few months.
