Just now getting to fiddle with my air pump and am now confused as to what is correct. I placed the pump onto the pto on my 1936 A and the cylinder that goes on the pto shaft is too large. It does have 2 splines inside the opening. Were there different size pto
shafts on these old John Deeres or is there an insert that I am missing. Don't ever intend to use, just a conversation piece but just curious. Thanks in advance.

OK did not realize that the shafts were of a different size. I am missing the insert then that goes onto the pto shaft. Thanks for the info

That explains it. I did a measurement and I have a pump with a 1 3/8" crank and my tractor has a 1 1/8" pto shaft. Thanks for the info.
