Unstyled G Carb problems

Hello, I have been working on a unstyled G for a little while now. I pulled the old carb off, sent it away to get cleaned and rebuilt and found out that it was in really rough shape, cracked bowl and also cracked in a couple other places. It wasn't even the right carb for the G as it was off of an A. As I restore it, I wanted it to be 100 percent original so I ordered the correct carb for it that had been all cleaned, rebuilt and ready to go. Everything has been cleaned and I have good fuel coming from the tank with no restrictions. I put the new carb on and go to start it and it will only run on full choke. It also acts like it's freezing up. i also replaced the gasket also. Any suggestions what could be going on?

Your carb rebuilder did a poor job cleaning that carb. I think the secret passage at the bottom of the carb stem is plugged.

What I was thinking Mark. A good rebuilder would of tested on a test engine to get it dialed in. All you should have had to done was fired it up and fine tune it to your tractor.

Well, that's what I would think as well. The carb came through worthington ag parts, so hopefully they will do something with it. It sounded like they send them somewhere to get rebuilt so we will see. Thank you for your help and your opinions!

I would not just exchange it either, I would either demand my money back . Let them deal with their junk supplier. I've had people drive 2 hrs to me to get their carb because I've offered to have it on the test tractor for them to see run first hand. Guess I can't blame them with this kind of crap going on. I've also seen what were represented to be ,and told to me over the phone, to be 100% original rebuilt Marvel Schebler carbs with " A & I ,Made in USA" molded into the float bowl. O....K.. They list every carb # in the book but when you call to get one they are "out" , but would be more than happy to rebuild yours for same inflated price. Nice game.
