4760 vs 4450 price

We have been looking at getting a bigger tractor for some time, and are still getting by. We could use a tractor between 140 - 180 HP with a cab. I have been looking at the JD models, and seeing that a 4760 is lower price than a 4450, even though the 4760 is newer and bigger. What do you guys think about this, and the bang for the buck factor?

We've had both tractors. If you don't need 540 pto, the 4760 is a nice tractor. Depending on wheel spacing the turning radius isn't too bad.

4440 4450 and 4455s will outsell their bigger brothers mostly because of 1000 only PTO.The 4555 to 4960 all have more power are built heavier, are longer and wider and with MFWD will do a lot more work.I sell some tractors and my market is in the 150H.P. tractors under $50K with dual PTO.We actually only ever use 540 for augers and spreaders but people still want it and prefer tractors with out computers and plastic .It is the same in semis trucks year 2007 and older are sought after for same reasons. If you are going to use it in the field or with a loader the MFWD is well worth the extra money.I seen on Machinery Pete that 4455 were up double digits$ in the last couple years and a 9530 would be down over 20%.

You know what your budget is , the newer bigger tractor will be a big step up and front wheel assist is hard to do without on e you have it. I would have to think long and hard as both have advantages and disadvantages only you know your work conditions as what works for me are older smaller tractors that get over worked often . They are paid for!
