Had a chance to buy a power block for five hundred dollars
it hasn't been magnufluxed so I passed . Was this the
right thing to do ? It was a 6-2
and he said the hard was good it was on a running tractor
now . Just think I should have bought it .what do you guys
think?

On a power block, in my opinion pressure testing is just as if not more important than magnafluxing. You can crack check it all you want and it will not tell you if the sleeve O-rings are good or not. The ones I have checked I put 10-15PSI on and you find out real quick if the block is good or not.

Did the pistons come with it for the $500? If they did, then the next question is are they good? In my experience, more often than not, power block pistons have skirts that are worn/collapsed toward the bottom and the top compression ring groove is slopped out. If the ring grooves are worn, they are fixable.

If the thing pressure checks/mags good and the pistons are good you aren't getting hurt at the $500.
