2120 rockshaft and recently added loader chattering

My friend checked the standby pressure, which was at 1800 - moved it to 2300 psi - changed hyd filter and cleaned screen which was dirty - the rockshaft still chatters a little bit -- BUT -- some one added a loader to tractor and just hooked the hyd feed and return to the SCV - as far as I know this will not work on a 2120 - once they operated the loader and then the rockshaft, the rockshft returns to chattering terribly - I have sent him pictures from the 145 and 175 loader manuals showing the lines feeding from behind the priority valve and returning to the filter canister. - Has anyone got one of these tractors with a loader that could take a picture of the connections for my friend?
The tractor also has a two stage clutch, which I have read needs to be locked out when operating a loader due to starvation of pump?

Thanks

Ken

Hi Ken...I would send pics of the setup from my own 1020 if I knew how so I can't help there, sorry. Is there a chance that this loader valve is setup as Open center? I would think it would be giving more starvation issues if this were the case.I really like the idea of "hard" plumbing the loader like you want to....lets start there and see what happens. As far as the clutch I cant say I have run into that but it makes sense to limit the pedal travel so the transmission pump keeps running. I can't do that with mine as it was built without independent PTO. I have all the parts here to change it over.......its well down the list of to dos....Very muddy here, let us know how you make out.

I'm sure you're already aware of some of this info but I thought I'd post it anyway since JD utility hyd's are rather unique.

I see no reason to lock out pto clutch as one only needs to depress foot pedal 1/2 way down to shift gears. I'll 2nd what Tech 7 stated about checking FEL control valve to determine if it's open or closed center. Unplug FEL valve return hose from scv and remove male fitting. Aim this hose in hyd filler hole on rear of tractor, start engine and with scv engaged both FEL valve spools in neutral no oil should exit open hose if valve is CC. While the hyd filler cap is off with engine running,3 pt raised see if hyd oil is spraying inside housing. It's possible 2120 has a tee fitting(parts key 8) in lieu of a pressure control valve(see 2nd photo)

Hey ken, I have a 2120 with a 522 loader, mine is mid mount hookup I can get you some pictures if you want.

My told my friend that to make sure that the loader valve is set up for closed centre --- IT WASN'T - he installed a plug in the valve and now operation has improved 95% -still has a little hesitation - he plumbed the supply in behind the pressure control valve and still needs to plumb the return into a ported filter cover ---Thanks guys for the input - keep smiling Bobby(Tech 7)!!!
