JD 650 Electrical Problem

Sweet widowed neighbor lady has a mid 80's JD (Yanmar) 650. She called me the other day to come see if I could boost her tractor off so she could mow. Quickly realized it wasn't the battery - almost 13 volts according to multi-meter. I turned switch on, and console lights lit up like a Christmas tree. Turned the key to start, and everything went out and did not come back on. Turned back off and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Tried again with same result. Lights came on, then all died when I tried to crank.

Could this be a shorted solenoid? All guidance is greatly appreciated...

Similar to below, the FIRST thing I would do is remove, clean and wire brush, then re attach each and every battery and battery cable and starter and starter relay and ground connections. Give the battery a good charge if necessary then try again.
