Just wondering if I can turn back my tech on my jd 60 I am rebuilding the whole engine and want to keep track of how many hours I have on a rebuild but didn't know if I have to buy a new one or not

I bought an aftermarket small electric hour meter.I think it was for a golf cart,less than $20.00 when I overhauled my 1520.mounted in
the battery box to keep track of hours run time.

You don't need to turn back your meter or get a new one. Make a note of the current meter hours in your shop manual or parts catalog.
When you want to know the hours since o/h just do a little subtraction.
