My JD 401 industrial has a rubber valve of some sort at the end where the paper element goes in. The rubber has a end that if squeezed it opens. I just wonder what this valve is for? Stan

IIRC the rubber valve is called an unloader valve that one squeezes to open to allow excess material(dust) to fall out of air cleaner housing
