My 9,000hr 1974 4430 QR seems to starve for hyd oil flow, disk, planter,3pt. loader start vibrating when I lift them, increasing engine RPM's helps but doesn't solve it. This has been going on for many years it's not my main tractor anymore so this has been put on the back burner. It gets worse after being warmed up. Here's what I know, Stand-by pressure is 2450 PSI. The front pump was rebuilt 2 years ago due to it leaking out of the shaft seal and 3 of the caps, it was a total rebuild new pistons etc. helped a little but not enough. The steering valve was rebuilt 3 years ago due to the fact that it had gotten hard to steer, like it had no power steering, after rebuild you can steer it with 1 finger. brakes work fine. The 3pt stays up when it isn't running. Oil line running back to the rockshaft housing is warm after a long day but not hot. It's always had the hydraulic oil, filter changed every 2-3 years along with cleaning the screen which never has anything on it. So I'm wondering if there would be an advantage to replacing the tranny pump, never has been replaced, appears that it's not too difficult of a job. Or am I looking the wrong place. Thanks

Jim, It makes no difference either side of the hi-lo. Just tried the PTO, only thing was when I was lifting the disk it hesitated for probably a second when I put the PTO in gear otherwise the speed seemed the same. Thanks

Jim, I will pull the relief valve today I may go ahead and replace it, the spring and the o-ring anyway they're not very pricey. If that isn't the problem do you know where to get a reasonably priced flowmeter, this may be a 1 time use of it? Thanks again for your time and knowledge.

Pulled the plug this PM, The spring came out but the valve didn't I tried to pick it out but no luck then I took a small punch and tried to move it up by hand, still no luck. I'm not sure how much the spring is supposed to be compressed, it had a lot of tension on it. It was hard to get back in and the plug started, I would've tried getting the valve by turning the tractor over but didn't want to cause a big problem, we're using it to auger corn into trailers. I'm thinking we're in the right spot just need to spend more time. Let me know what you think, Thanks, John

Thanks for the part numbers. I've got them written down. I'm going to check the Transmission pump flow rate and also check the filter check valve when I get a little more time. I've got a feeling the transmission pump is getting weak. I've had this tractor for 30 years and over time lifting the planter or disk has gotten slower. I've got the scv's turned as far up as they can be.
