2240 Brakes Drag and Now 3pt Chatters

I've been chasing an intermittent dragging brake issue on this early 2240 for some time. Finally, over the winter I gave up, and sent it to a highly recommended local mechanic. Good people, but IH, not Deere experts. He found that the brakes were completely worn out, and replaced them.

They now work better, but still drag some. Drag can be released by tapping brake pedals. Any thoughts?

Also... Now I have an issue with the 3pt chattering if it is not in the fully raised position. All other hydraulic functions (3pt speed and pwr steering) seem to work ok. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks, Steve

3 pt chattering might be control linkage out of adjustment or control valves control linkage adjustment too tight. Adjustment of valve clearance can be accomplished from RH outside by removing a plug but I can't remember which plug(maybe one of #16 plugs). Have you tried setting L/D lever(parts key 9) in different positions? I'd also advise to check operation of valve(parts key 19). On brakes are pedal pivot pins well lubricated? Have you ever checked stand-by pressure? It should be 2250?

Balls, springs and seats in brake master cylinder could be tired? Was there fine grey metal in the transmission filter?
Is there a loader or any other hydraulic equipment added to the tractor ?

Thanks Jim. I'll take a look at the adjustment. I tried moving the L/D lever, but it did not change the chatter issue. It is a 2240
(early s/n). The brake pedals seem to be free and working well. I'm thinking that the master cylinders (l&r) must be allowing
some of the low pressure oil through even when they're closed. The tractor is about 12 mi from home, so these remote
diagnostics are always a bit of a challenge. Thank you for all your help.

I'm thinking you're right about master cylinder issues. There are no other hydraulic systems on the tractor. The crazy thing
is that before the brake rebuild (and transmission oil and filter change), the 3 pt worked perfectly.
