JD 60 Oil Change

Well, some dumbaxx forgot to turn off the fuel after showing off the unit. Yep, leaked into crankcase. Anyhoo, changed oil and filter yesterday (yes, up to the elbow). The point being, I have been using Rotella 15-40 and didn't realize how well that stuff sticks to metal (and skin). Great product. Took 2 washings in the parts washer to get the filter cover clean and the same for my mitts. Just sayin'. P.S., when I find the guy, he's getting the 'sack'. ;^)

Another P.S. I have since made a Medallion (painted red) that will hang off the ball valve that I have after the 'bowl'. When fuel is on, it will hang off the choke handle. Getting older is not all it's cracked up to be !

I know a fellow that only puts in maybe one gallon at a time just in case he forgets to turn off the fuel valve.

Reminds me, guess I'd better go check the fuel shut off valve on the 70 while I'm thinking about it.

That same dumbaxx works here for me. I have fired him several times but he just keeps coming back.

I would love to find a solenoid valve that i could fit in the fuel line that would close when the switch is turned off. Does anyone have any suggestions of where a valve like that could be found?

My 1954. 60 has a rod that sticks through the dash to turn the fuel on. It came from the factory like that my uncle bought it new.
