3020 hydraulics

Ive been noticing that my hydraulics aren't what they used to be. They have gotten slower and seem to be pulsating. Hydraulic pump has been noisy for a few years but never seen any difference. I plugged a gauge in my remote and pressure was at 2100 but it pulsated. The needle on the gauge did not stay still. It kept pulsating. What is causing this? thanks

How long since hyd filter was changed and sump screen checked/cleaned?

Pressure pulsating is probably caused from leaking(worn) inlet or outlet crankcase valve seats.

Although 2250 is factory setting one can go as high as 2350 with no ill affects.

What year is it and which transmission does it have ?? It could be a weak transmission pump letting the main pump stave for oil (cavitation)

The valve seats(parts key 13) can be renewed in your old pump IF they are the problem. I'd suggest to change hyd filter & check screen 1st plus there's a filter in the pump.

There is a small filter in the front pump,, but that is not your problem....all it does is filter the oil going to the stroke control valve, I change them when ever I rebuild a pump, and that is the only time they are looked at..

Well I don't think its that because I had to do the load shaft seals last summer and I changed oil and filter and cleaned screen with no excessive brake material.

Trans pump should pump about 5 GPM. You can disconnect the line circled in red them aim fitting into bucket and time output for 30 seconds while engine is running. Checking trans into bucket gives an idea of pump output BUT not a true reading because output is not under any pressure. One needs to CAREFULLY pressure output to get a true reading. To R&R trans pump rockshaft housing must be removed from tractor
