Is there much capacity difference in 14 and 214 or are they about the same??? I see a 214 for sale and thought about it for spare. A 14 WILL NOT DO WHAT I WANT IT TO. And I was pretty familure with them liked them just to small to slow!!! thanks all.

Was always told that the main difference in the two was that the 214 was built heavier. I baled with a 214T which was bought new in 1960. Later traded for a 346 which had much greater capacity. Don't think you would be happy with a 214 but would be with a 346 thru 348, BUT, will cost more. Just my opinion.

I agree a little but not a lot of dif. in capacity ; I have stacked bales behind both ,and dif. is in quality of bale ,214 because of it more modern bale chamber [ pressure on 4 sides] , makes much firmer, solid, squarer bale, with I'm thinking 10 to 15 more lb. same length bale...

214 was sold as heavy duty baler ,for custom or commercial baling , both twine & wire, first sold in '58', replacing the 114W , which had a right to left plunger & chamber, where the 14T[first made in '55'] & the 214 were the more common front to back plunger & chamber.......Magnify pic...

It's been a long time since my Dad bought a new 214 and although a 214 won't bale with the 346/347/348 balers I think it will easily bale more tons of hay per hr than a 14T.

There was 224 baler in the mix also. Had one worked ok for me. Neighbor now has it and does good job for him. Just bales his own.
