Actually, a good desirable visible blue versus a thin wimpy yellow spark IS A RESULT OF SEVERAL FACTORS not just a coil or condenser.

First you obviously indeed need a good working coil but you also need a good clean set of correctly gapped points that are NOT all burned or pitted or carboned up,,,,,,,,,,,,,you also need a good correct sized condenser,,,,,,,,,,a good cap and rotor,,,,,,,,,a good spring impulse assembly regarding the start/impulse spark,,,,,,,,,,,,,a high magnetic field strength rotor assembly,,,,,,,,plus other components.

Often the cause of a thin wimpy yellow spark is points that are burned or carboned or pitted and after that a weak or leaky or improper sized condenser, either of which are more often the problem then the coil followed by a weak or bad spring regarding the start/impulse spark.

Thanks for the in info on it. Im thinking of sending it in and have it redone. I have had the tractor for 15 years and its never been worked on and now i have it out of the shed running around with it and it has become hard to start the old girl and checking things out the spark is weak and red with new spark plugs. The tractor runs fine but we have to pull start it witch my grandson dont mine because he likes to drive the b i have.
