Model 50 ventilator pump

Its been a while since I have worked on a model 50 or 60 and was hoping someone could refresh my memory on how the ventilator pump system works. I have a friend who has a model 50 that is getting excessive blow by out the vent pipe with some oil and I am trying to get some ideas before I drive out to look at it. He said it happened all of the sudden and he doesn't believe the crankcase is overfull(But I haven't got to confirm this myself yet). Any clues would be helpful! Thanks Dave

Ventilator pump draws clean air in after the air cleaner and dumps it in the crankcase, adding to the blowby from the pistons and the whole mess then leaves via the breather tube.

Also check crankcase for exsessive oil over fill

Ya that's kinda what Im leaning towards also. Maybe bad diagram on sediment bowl
