I cant get the left side pair of dust caps out of the coupler barrels. I can rotate them and get little play but afraid to really pull on them hard. no pressure, tractor off, control levers activated both directions and returned to neutral so no pressure on couplers. Any tricks or should I get a big set channel locks and yank?

The seals completely cover the barrels and the plastic / rubber is pretty stiff. Think I should try to slip flat blade screwdriver in somehow and try to tap back a collar?

Ise the claw of a curved claw hammer. Put the claw on the back of the barrel and the other on the trans case, pull down on the handle and they pop out. Don't forget to oil any part of the barrel you can at some point to keep them free.

On all my tractors I install the aftermarket levers that allow you to do a "push/pull" motion to relieve both spools. I'm not sure who makes them but they are available in several places. They sure do help with hooking up a cylinder. I've seen spools damaged by using a hammer or other such tool on the back of them. I put some of these on a tractor years ago and they really help. Got the caps out but took some doing. If you come up with the product give it a post. I hadn't used mine enough to keep them free. But the whole operation defies gravity.

Do you remember who made those aftermarket scv barrel levers & spring loaded scv dust covers? I sold a lot them back in the day but can't remember from which company I acquired them.
