John Deere Plow

I just got a I bottom pull type plow. The number on the beam is 23440. It has steel spoke wheels and a steel trailing wheel. Question, was this plow made for a John Deere model H tractor? Thank you in advance for your info. RW.

depends on the bottom size one 14 H should pull it. may need some weights

The JD # 51 one bottom plow for the time period would have 614 on the beam. The integral one bottom made for the "H" wouldn't have spoke wheels. it hinged up under the tractor furthur and did have tail wheel but mounted more like a mounted plow as apposed to a pull type. Are you even sure it's a JD plow ??

The John Deere part number 23440 is not for a beam, it is for a drawbar for a horse hitch on a disc tiller. So unless your plow says "John Deere" somewhere on it, you may have a different make plow. One bottom JD plows that fit your description could be 41C, #51, or a #22. Like Mr. Hoffman said, a picture would help.
