1520 steering

new to me 1520 lots of little things wrong but they are being fixed. the steering wheel has about 3/4 turn of play and the wheel moves up and down like you are screwing it up and down. do you think the thrust bearing is our or could it just be out of adj. no leaks at all works ok other than the play.

Some up/down of steering wheel is common. Does it have less up/down motion with engine running? Check for faulty brgs/bushings on the bellcrank in the center of frt axle as they have a history of "grease worms" eating them up.

Also check tie rod ends on the drag link plus remove rear round inspection cap on clutch housing to be sure bolt in steering arm is tight.
