My "29 GP is the pride and joy of my collection. Good paint, tires, rims, starts easy, runs great with good power, handles great and a real joy to drive. But has developed some sort of a problem when it gets up to operating temperature. It blows engine oil out the exhaust in small drops and a oil mist when warmed up. Strange thing is that it doesnt smoke. At first I wasnt sure where it was coming from but held my hand near the exhaust and at half throddle or more I get some oil on my hand. NOT a drive in your Sunday best anymore and makes so I really don"t care to show or parade it. I have thought about what"s going on and what the cause might be. Ran one day last fall for over 2 1/2 hours and didn"t use a drop of engine oil. So the only conclusion I can come up with is that maybe this oil is coming through the valves. The valve springs run in separate oil in there own little oil bath since its a flat head engine. But why the oil blowing out like never before and why no smoke? Guess I don"t need to wax it anymore, I just wipe it down with a cotton towel at the end of the day and I can take a bath in the parts washer.
