Wave washers in clutch

I was reading a post awhile back that I thought was on here. It was about putting a wave or spring washer under the 3 clutch adjusting nuts.
Searched for it, unable to find. Anybody remember this topic

You put them on under the castle nuts on the 3 clutch bolts on the 2 cyl. clutchs. They are available from JD. Install them with the high side facing the nuts. It will stop your tractor from hopping when you push the clutch ahead. They do make a difference and they are not that expensive.

The best cure I have found for a grabby clutch is to make sure the metal surfaces are not shiny. All of the ones I can remove I use a sandblaster to deglaze them. The inside of the pulley I usually scuff with sandpaper.

I use them on my "B" and '37 "A" and the light two finger touch/finess is amazing. Makes loading on a two ramp trailer just another day.

Sometimes I use them sometimes I don't. I think they make a bigger difference on the smaller tractors. Just went through the clutch on my 70 gas std. and forgot all about them, still works fine.

Sorry, the part no. on that box is for some other part I got from Deere, they just put the washers in the box so I did not loose them.

Hey Dan, you didn't just by chance buy that 70 up in Mi. a few months ago did you? Up north of Grand Rapids MI ??
