7520 lost high gears

We have been running anhydrous and I was moving to a different farm when I slowed down for an intersection. I was in 8 high throttled back while pulling the applicator and one single tank, when the transmission acted like it went into neutral. When I would try to shift to high range the tractor would try to move like the synchronizers are working, I just cant find the gear. All low range gears are working. So now I have to gas in 4 high instead of 5 and 5 high and 6 high on the road which is 10 mph. I thought maybe someone with experience might know of an easy fix.

The cables were replaced 4 years ago because they got hard to shift. It's the range shifter on the dash. I have low, which is all the way forward, neutral, no high, and have reverse, all the way down.

Did you read my reply to your previous post suggesting that you might want to take the cover off of the transmission and see what's going on... possibly a broken fork or shift collar/synchro issues.

Hi Bob Thanks for your help. No I have not taken the cover off yet, I am thinking I won't see much as I think there is a steel piece covering those synchronizers and gear.

Bob if it is a broken collar or synchro I will still have to split the tractor to fix it right.

Yes, but nothing like having a look... get the cover off and have a helper up in the cab run the shifter through the gears and see what's going on. Don't overlook something in the shifter or cable area that is causing a loss of motion to the shift "cam".
