JD 850 Dozer

My FIL has a brother who owns a 850 dozer. Once it warms up after using if for a few hours, the hydro transmission begins to slip....until it won't move.

FIL says that supposedly they (JD) have quit selling parts for the hydro and not much of any way to fix the problem.

Sorry that I don't know more about the dozer, but would like to know if anyone here has any input or advice on the problem

TIA.

Honestly I have no idea if it would work, but I've found that on smaller lawn & garden hydro transaxles, switching to a heavier than recommended, munti-grade fluid like maybe 10W-30 or 15W-40 will buy some additional useful life. Proceed with that at your own peril!
