I noticed a very small seep of moisture around the head gasket on my 4440 the other day. Oil is still fine. Should I be concerned? Thanks

I wouldn't worry about it, some times when it's real cold small leaks show up and go away..how many hours to you think is on the engine ??

I'm the second owner - its got 6,200 hours on it. I bought it when it had 4,900 on it - so I am guessing that it hasn't been touched. I don't think it has ever been worked to death. Its in pretty good shape for a 35 year old tractor!

Get it warmed up when you can and see if it still seeps,,the perimeter of the gasket is a heavy duty gasket material, the "business" part of the head gasket is the fire ring area...if it stops after it warms up I would not worry about it,,if it still seeps enough to worry you I would go for an engine O/H while you have the head off it will be near half way there..

When you say seap of misture, I assume you have some dust sticking to the area and not a literal oil run down the block.. Would be nice to know the particulars. But if that is the case, there are a couple areas that are simply prone to this. The right-hand side near the fuel filters is notorious for this. I have one doing it ever so slightly just forward of that spot. So, if it's minor, I wouldn't worry about it too much, but worth keeping an eye on.
