The battery was dead today, I have a 3020 gas with 1 battery, positive ground, negative cable goes to starter. How do I charge it with a 12v trickle charger or jumper cables without messing anything up? I can't find any good answers in the forums. The original manual couldn't be any less helpful, it just says "charge it" Thanks!

Charge it like you would a vehicle battery.. locate the pos post on battery and neg post on battery.. hook charger pos to bat pos. and neg charger to neg bat post..

Just ignore the thought of it being a positive ground..etc..etc.. if it bothers you unplug the cables to tractor then charge.. but I never do..

Do not let the tractor ground mess you up. ALL batteries when charging them you hook + to + and - to -. Does not matter which way it is ground be it + ground or - ground

You can charge directly from the starter without having to mess with the battery box. Negative to
starter solenoid and positive to ground.

The original manual is right.
It assumes you know how to hook up a charger.
You're overthinking it.

Only one thing you need to really think about is if you are jumping it off from another vech. such as your truck or car DON'T LET THE TWO VECH. TOUCH !!
